I was fortunate enough to attend a few shows and even work backstage this NYFW! So, of course, I wanted to share all the snapshots and my thoughts on the designers and their collections for Spring/Summer2011. Enjoy ♥

DENNIS BASSO S/S '11
Let's start off with the notorious king of fur, Dennis Basso.
NO PANTS!!! I know it might sound a little crazy but Basso explained this season's woman loves to go out, travel, dance, and is not afraid to show a little leg. His spring/summer 2011 collection consisted of flirty skirts and cocktail dresses for the jetsetting, fabulous, party girl.
And if you think Basso wasn't going to incorporate fur this season, think again. There were tiny exotic fur shrugs which added luxury to a cocktail dress. I loved the cut-out detailing and chiffon skirts!

DENNIS BASSO S/S '11
-umm, I died when this dress came out. LOVE IT.
MICHAEL ANGEL S/S '11
Michael Angel takes risks! Unlike the rest of the collections which were more muted in color, this one popped with outrageously HOT shades of magenta, purple, turquoise, and red. His latex pieces and graphic prints add a lot of character to each look. The architectural yet draped skirts were a perfect fit on the models. Although a number ofhis pieces aren't really wearable there were a few more simple options that I would consider wearing on a night out!

Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi know how to wow a crowd with a collection so beautiful it makes you re-think your whole closet.
Minimalism is a huge part of their spring 2011 collection which consisted of a serene palette. The icy blues, greys and creams on the runway made you feel like you were a part of a mythical wonderland. If you're like me, and black is your MUST HAVE color, don't worry..there were a few LBD's that made me smile :-)
I loved the structured yet flowy silk dresses and skirts. You had to check out the models both coming and going, so as not to miss a cutaway back or the swish of pleats escaping a structured skirt. One of the shirts even had a gauze embroidered with Islamic tile motifs♥
